The Executive board (DB) annually consists of 3 to 5 students who work together for a year for the sports students in the Netherlands. As a board member of the DB of SSN you fulfill a central role in the Dutch student sports world and you are in contact with local, national and worldwide student (sports) organizations and parties. Together with the other board members, you are jointly responsible for managing the organisation and writing and carrying out good policy. Every year the board members of the DB of SSN change in September.
Hey! I’m Helen,
This year’s chairman and commissioner of sports of SSN. I am 26 years old and I live in Utrecht. Last year I was chairman of the Utrecht Sports Council and I have previously served on the board of a sports association in Rotterdam. I now play sports at five associations in Utrecht, from surfing and swimming to survival and climbing and ballet, name a sport and I did it! I hope this year will be a good year for SSN. Do you have questions about me or SSN?
I’m Wouter Steenbergen and I’m this years treasurer of Studentsportensport Nederland. Since I was young I was busy with sports and since I am studying I always participated in student sports, that’s why I wanted to come up for the sporting students in the Netherlands. Furthermore, I play Waterpolo with Hydrofiel in Nijmegen en did a board year as treasurer there as well. But I also like to play and try other sports that are new to me! Also I currently study my masters in economics in Nijmegen. You can always send me an email if you would like to have more information about studentsports in the Netherlands!
My name is Kevin van Loon and I have been working for Student Sports the
Netherlands four days a week since February 2016! In the years before I started
working at SSN I did all kinds of things in student sports. For example, I was treasurer for Sportraad Pendragon in Tilburg, before it was given the name FOSST. In addition, I have worked for 3 years as the chairman of the Tilburg Student Handball Association Camelot and I have been in the organization of the Student Winter Sports and Hart van Brabantloop. I myself play a creative and spectacular form of handball: Beach handball. The ideal thing about this hobby is that it is mainly played in the sun and on beautiful exotic beaches so that I can combine sports with my other hobby: traveling. For the future I hope that Student Sports the Netherlands can grow as an organization in such a way that we have real added value for every student athlete.
My name is Sibren Ottens and I live in Nijmegen. I have been working at Studentensport Nederland since December 2021. I am involved in the online communication of SSN and support in the organization of the GNSK. In addition to my work for SSN, I am a personal trainer and sports class instructor at My Healthclub in Nijmegen. My life is largely devoted to sports. If I am not exercising myself, I provide training or encourage people to exercise. Sport is in my DNA. I look forward to sharing my passion with you!
